Monetizing a site through affiliate networks
Hi, I'm trying to monetize my blog site using affiliate networks but I'm not sure what to choose as this is the first time I've done this.
The site is a classifieds site built on a wordpress installation so I am limited to an extent as to what affiliate networks I can choose based on the theme options. I know I can overide this and insert links manually but the theme gives a lot of options so I thought I'd take the easy route instead. Here's what I have available
-Amazon, Affiliate Future, ShareASale, Link Share, Reg now, Commision Junction, WebGains, ClickBank, TradeDoubler, Bridaluxe, Link Connector, NetShops, Buy.at, PepperJam, Google Affiliate Network, Affiliate Window, Commission Monster, Market Health, Affilinet, One Network Direct
I've signed up with Amazon already as I can pull products from their site and host them as listings on my own site, but I've still got space in the header, footer and sidebars and as I'm providing free classifieds I need an alternative way to profit from the site.
Has anyone tried any of these affiliate networks or know what sort of profit/sale percentages are distributed to affiliates?

My new favorite is Viglink. It's an aggregator of affiliate networks. You add a little javascript to your site and then it takes care of changing the links to affiliate links.
Positives:
- It's easy
- It eliminates the problem of hitting the min revenue threshold when you're an affiliate of a lot of sites
- It's pretty transparent and SEO neutral
- Good reporting
- Completely centralized
Negatives:
- They don't always have all the affiliate programs you want. They did add the ones I noticed they were missing, but possible that you'd miss something
- They take a cut (though this is usually not a big deal because they get a higher commission on things they are big affiliates of). For example on amazon they might take 25% of your commission, but their commission level might be 2-4% higher. If they take 25% of an 8% commission vs you getting 6% directly from amazon, it's a wash.
