We have multiple PC's in different locations (including a laptop) and can't go past SugarSync. It's way more than just a backup solution. Highly recommended. Copies all data to two locations but not sure where they are. Will be interested to hear if anyone has any better solutions. The only think that i don't like is that it can't backup my Outlook data file. Apparently they are working on it. Sounds like they want to make the data useable across their service instead of just backing up the file. Microsoft has just made the specs on the file available to developers so here's hoping!
I use Mozy (mozy.com) for both of my businesses and my personal files. It's saved my butt more than once. They're mirrored (multiple back-up copies in multiple locations) and serve a wide range of customers. As far as I know there are no limits on what types of files can be copied.
I do recommend that you set the preferences to back-up all of your folders, except for maybe the operating system. By default only certain folders are backed-up. Some programs store data in folders which don't get backed up by default.
I personally use Dropbox and a new service that is just like Dropbox called ZumoDrive. Both of the these have 2GB of free storage. And then you can scale up at a cost. ZumoDrive is a little cheaper, but both are great online backup services.
Now that mozy killed it's unlimited plan, you might want to checkout BackBlaze
