Virtual Assistant (VA) Reccomendations?
If I wanted to "test drive" a Virtual Assistant (VA), where should I look? Are there any that Automate My Small Business hasn't already covered?
How do you evaluate a VA? Do you give them a "test job" and see how they do? (Like call up a friend to set an appointment and then ask the friend?).

Our favorite is oDesk, but I've also had good success with Elance. oDesk is a little less expensive to get started with. Elance usually has a little higher skill level, but costs more on average. Some alternatives to these are Guru and LiveWork.
Can anyone else recommend some new sites that we don't know about yet?
As for choosing the right one, I usually have an interview over IM, and sometimes skype if the job requires talking to people. But yeah, hire the best one an see how it goes. You can always terminate the contract and try someone else.

Personally, my experience hasn't been about testing a VA... it's been about having my own #$%^ together enough to keep a good one busy. By and large, the Phillipino work ethic and eagerness to please are unbelievable. Try out a few tests on some VAs there and you'll be stoked.
