How do I create a discussion page using wordpress?

I own a financial site for children (mycents.com.au) and i was wondering how to set up a discussion page on my wordpress site so that i could encourage people to share their thoughts ( esp school aged children).

any thoughts?

I like to use Disqus wordpress plugin because it integrates with their social profiles like Facebook. It's pretty good for comments, and fostering discussion about a specific post.

If you want a site that's 100% discussion I'd look to forum software or a Q&A site like this one.

I'm working on a new version of this site's Q&A software if you like the way this site works. I'll post an update here when it's ready if you're interested. It's not on wordpress, but it will be hosted. We're replacing the current software because it has some technical problems.
