I need links!
Hi all- Last night I looked over my site stats-Alexa score, links in, etc etc It is the pits! Without doing anything shady, how do I improve this, and how do I get those links coming in ? I know content, content, content. Anything else though?

Yes, depending on how popular your site is to begin with and how long it has been around, you can find people who are talking about your site/product on the net but aren't linking to you.
Do this with a query in google such as: "-site:www.mydomain.com mydomain" OR "-site:www.mydomain.com mycompanyname" (without the quotes but the minus sign is important)
This is a search for mention of your website or brand outside of your domain. See if the results reveal any mentions of you or your brand but do not have links. Contact to site owners and ask if they can add a link.
Also, use a site called opensiteexplorer.org. Drop the sites of some of your competitors in there and see where they're getting links from and if they're places you could get links from too.
