Creating podcasts, & Adding them to WordPress
I'm totally inspired by your podcasts, Matt and Brandon, and aside from what I've learned from the content, I'm inspired to start podcasting for my own businesses. I'm happy to buy an eBook or join a membership site or whatever to have the learning curve shortened for me. Can anyone suggest a proven resource for getting from podcast zero to hero in the shortest time? Thanks...

Hi
I have recently been to a few good podcasts etc. I use podpress (which seems to be a good one to use)
I have put details of wordpress plugins , mics , audio editing etc I use along with some podcasts I really like onto my personal website http://paulayling.me/entreprenuir/internetmarketing/
I hope you find it useful

Thanks for the info, Paul. I ended up taking the "Ready, fire, aim" approach to learnign to podcast, and got started with what I had and/or could easily find. So, in my case that meant my $25 Labtech mic/headset, I downloaded Skype to make calls, Pamela to record calls, and WavePad to create an intro/outro and edit the final MP3's. I've still got to grab a plug-in for my WP site, but it's all pretty darn easy to far. I made a test call/interview with my wife, (freaked her out a bit when I said, "Baby, don't be alarmed but I'm recording this call." But it got the job done. I'll report when I get an episode up. Seems pretty easy so far. Thanks again, though...
I just added a post to my blog about a podcast I did recently using my iphone. I thought you may be interested.
I have some more stuff on my website about my setup. Basically I use wordpress and podpress and I should really use feedburner too but currently do not
Regards
Paul
My friend and business coach made a great blog about this exact topic. Check it out for some great insight. http://www.coachradio.tv/how-to-start-a-podcast-in-wordpress
Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but I cover alot of the core foundations in one of the posts on my blog/site http://www.bitsyncmedia.com/2009/12/tips-tricks-and-techniques-for-recording-podcasts/
I didn't mention anything about editing, enhancing or mixing podcasts in the post, (otherwise I could potentially put myself out of business) but there are some other useful bits of information on the site like configuring audacity for optimium results and recording through skype.
For wordpress I would advise using blubrry power press, it's a great plugin as I'm sure the Matt and Brandon will agree. you can insert the audio player any where you want in your post with the [powerpress] tag, but the best thing about the plugin is that it notifies iTunes and submits the podcast to your account (provided you have one) every time a new podcast episode is created and posted on the site, so no more tedious manual submissions.
If you need any tips on editing and mixing just PM or email me and I'll help you out.
Hope this was useful to you.
