Recommend a 1-800 toll-free number provider

I've use RingCentral and like them. They have a pretty decent website for setting up the extensions/departments. If you're so inclined, they'll customize the voice greetings professionally for your company, or you can do it yourself. I know Brandon had his wife record his greetings and on-hold up-sells. They also have a good iPhone app with the killer feature of making outbound calls with the 800 number. I didn't want customers to get my personal phone number, so having caller id show the 800 number when I made calls was a big deal for me. They also have pretty reasonable pricing. I'd recommend them.

About skype, I haven't used their business offerings, but I like that they started offering skype calls over 3G on iPhone. That's something that discouraged me from using them before. Also, their fee for a real phone number was pretty ridiculous, but they've lowered it to about $5/mo which is fairly competitive. I use them all the time for calls internal to the business, just not for customers. Maybe it's time to reconsider them.

I used AccessLine in the past. I signed up through COSTCO It was only about $4 to $5 USD per month, and included a fixed number of incoming minutes.

I don't think AccessLine offers discounts through CostCo anymore, but my wife signed up for the service too and is still using it.

I didn't have enough volume to justify it, so I started using Google Voice which allows incoming callers to contact you via a link on your website. Free for them, free for you!

I use Grasshopper and love it!!!! It was the easiest to set up. I tried ring central but found it harder to navigate. It is only $9.99 per month for the starter plan. I was also impressed that the VP called me on the phone to make sure I was happy when I joined.
